Dishes

The dishes were inconsistent in quality. The chicken tofu flower soup was clear and fresh, and the grouper for the pickled cabbage fish was tender and fresh. However, the pig kidney and aorta in the double crispy dish had a slight gamey taste and were slightly overcooked. The Mapo Tofu lacked the authentic numbing and spicy kick, tasting more bland and oily. The pea shoots, while tender, lacked their natural fresh aroma.

Service

The service was efficient, attentive, and polite, with quick seating and rapid dish delivery.

Precautions

  • Be aware that the prices are quite high, with an average cost of around 200 RMB per person.
  • The Sichuan dishes are adapted to local Guangdong tastes, meaning they are significantly less spicy and numbing than authentic Sichuan cuisine.
  • Some dishes, like the Maoxuewang (Boiled Blood Curd) and Paojiao Huobao Shuangcui (Double Crispy with Pickled Peppers), might have a noticeable gamey flavor due to certain ingredients or preparation.
  • The texture and flavor balance of dishes like Mapo Tofu (e.g., oiliness, lack of numbing spice) might not meet expectations for traditional Sichuan preparations.
  • The lighting in the restaurant is dim, which might not be suitable for everyone.
